Description

Role Overview
The Novelis Fairmont Plant is looking for an experienced Storeroom Coordinator. The MRO Storeroom Coordinator has the responsibility for daily operations of the MRO Storeroom. They ensure the supply of materials from point of purchase to the deployment or use of the material by maintaining accurate inventories in serviceable condition. They are responsible for maintaining inventory to ensure service levels and avoid over stocks. They are responsible for implementing and sustaining MRO material management processes, as well as reporting and managing NNA procurement yearly KPI’s and objectives for North American storeroom team.
The Fairmont plant, an aluminum sheet and light gauge fin/coil cold rolling facility, supplies more than 70 domestic and international customers with more than 435 various products. Markets We Serve Automotive and Transportation – Utilized in end-use products such as radiators, condensers, evaporators and heat covers Consumer and Industrial – Industrial foil stock used in residential and commercial air conditioning, heat exchangers and refrigeration units Packaging – Used in aluminum foil and rigid containers (steam tables, turkey roasters, pie pans, etc.)
Responsibilities
  • Data Management- Material records data are valid and accurate
  • Storeroom Access – Storeroom is operated as a closed storeroom with counter service provided to customers. After hour access is controlled with limited access and accountability
  • Cycle Counting – Cycle counting is completed per schedule with accuracy reported by net adjustments for on hand quantity and dollar value
  • Issue Materials – Materials are issued at the time of removing from their bin location. Real time issuing of materials
  • Purchasing Store Stock – Review of MRP requirements to ensure the correct service levels are maintained and over stocks are avoided
  • Receiving – Quality control for incoming materials to ensure correct materials are received
  • Repairable Materials – Manage repairable materials process for external and internal repair materials
  • Asset Care – Responsible for proper storage and coordination with Reliability for preventive maintenance work orders
  • Criticality Rating – Responsible for coordinating with Reliability to maintain the criticality ranking of store stock materials. Utilize criticality rating for managing store stock service levels
  • Obsolete Material – Manage obsolete material review and disposition process.
  • Kitting – Manage kitting process to support work order planning
  • Stock Item Addition – Coordinate new store stock addition process to ensure new stock additions are a business decision by the appropriate plant personnel
  • Bill of Material – Coordinate with Reliability to support equipment bill of materials
  • ABC Analysis – Maintain the ABC analysis rating on material records and utilize as a tool for material service levels and cycle counting
  • Vendor Managed Inventory – Provide material planning input for use in the development vendor managed inventory
  • Return to Inventory- Manage process for returning issued materials back to store stock inventory
  • Return to Vendor – Manage return to vendor process
  • Emergency Purchasing – Manage and coordinate with procurement for after hour emergency purchasing
  • Key Material Metrics – Capture and monitor key materials management performance metrics, and ability to communicate trends and forecast events depicted from KPIs
  • Advanced Analytical Skills – ability to analyze and forecast storeroom KPIs, develop reports by manipulating raw data into streamlined and efficient reports for all levels of management
  • Matrix Reporting – ability to operate and perform in a matrix reporting structure, both locally at the plant site location and regionally in a corporate structure

Qualifications
  • Bachelors in Business, Engineering, or Engineering Technology degree required.
  • Prior experience managing a storeroom and staff in an industrial setting strongly preferred
  • Strong Computer skills with software applications proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
    • SAP and/or Maximo or similar MRP system
    • SharePoint or similar web based system
    • Ability to learn and become proficient in all software and web based applications as required
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
  • Personal traits should include the ability to utilize human relation skills to motivate, understand, and work with others to attain the objectives
  • Desire to take initiative and develop a pro-active relationship with employees through follow-up, understanding their needs and fostering a collaborative relationship
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload; must be able to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail
  • Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Broad operational materials management experience at plant level
  • Experience in MRO inventory management and/or storeroom
  • Strong familiarity with MRO commodities
  • Materials Requirement Planning system experience
  • Understanding the process for MRO materials supporting equipment reliability
  • Strong orientation for customer service
  • Experience with inventory management computer system (SAP and/or Maximo Preferred)
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma , and CI projects
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office: Word (document creation), Excel (creating spreadsheets and analyzing data), Outlook (calendar and email)
