Description

Role Overview:
The Global IT Project Manager Hosting will be responsible for managing the global project to move Novelis datacenters, currently outsourced, to cloud-based services including all aspects of the project life cycle such as design, planning, development, change control, issue management, customer relationships, and project team leadership. This role will perform all project planning that will result in the decommission of four core datacenters. This Project Manager will collaborate with Novelis Application Business Owners to negotiate move groups that will minimize business disruption while we migrate these Business Applications from a high fixed costs datacenter model to Application Processing moving to a variable consumption based pricing model with minimal fixed overhead costs.
Role Responsibilities
  • Manage the Migration of datacenters in various locations to the Microsoft Azure Cloud and Oracle Cloud datacenters
  • Transition all Application Disaster Recovery Solutions to Cloud solutions
  • Consolidate 300 Application Databases to optimize Database Licensing favorable to Novelis usage
  • Assist with contract language/ negotiation with both Managed Service Providers and Infrastructure as a Service Cloud Services (e.g. Microsoft and Oracle)
  • Define, design and communicate appropriate artifacts that allow the smooth transition and execution of applications to a cloud based infrastructure
  • Develop, maintain and track progress metrics related to all cloud projects and sub-projects; review and take action as necessary to keep the project on schedule, and within budget and scope
  • Identify problems and recommend corrective actions in order to facilitate smooth execution
  • Define, design and communicate appropriate artifacts that allow the smooth transition and execution of applications to a cloud-based infrastructure
  • Develop project customer satisfaction rating and measurement process through customers surveys
  • Manage project tracking, CPIs and KPIs in accordance with departmental methodology to ensure the quality of products and services delivered
  • Create a three-year cloud strategy with a rolling six-month technology review to ensure Novelis Infrastructure Services is getting the highest and best use of public/private cloud technologies
  • Ensure that SOW (statements of work) are executed for all projects resulting in consistent approach to scope, timing and deliverables.
  • Work with project team, customers, and management to prioritize requirements, develop, and maintain detailed project plans using standard PMI tools
  • Work with Business Systems Analyst to define and document appropriate DITL (Day In The Life) Test Plans that will be required to verify customer experience in the public cloud
  • Determine resource roles needed and work with management to onshore/offshore required project team personnel
  • Work with Novelis Enterprise Architecture Team, Cloud Providers, Managed Service Providers to provision the appropriate number of Cloud sites supporting Novelis globally
  • Maintain all Run Rate reductions in Infrastructure strategic cloud initiatives to ensure Cost/Benefit assumptions delivered to the Executive Committee are realized.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Engineering advanced degree preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in migrating application systems to the public cloud
  • Familiar with consumption based computing offered by public cloud providers
  • Knowledge of ITIL v3 IT Service Management; Certification desired
  • PMI Project Management Certification
  • Senior level of experience with project management tools and Excel pivot tables
  • Experienced managing dept. budgets and initiatives
  • Proven leadership ability and exceptionally self-motivated and self-directed
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate IT Infrastructure with a variety of business audiences
  • Ability to motivate in a team-oriented; collaborative environment
  • Keen attention to details
